Moe Prager is a hard boiled kind of guy, and now he is an older hard boiled guy--he is facing surgery for what is presumed to be metastatic cancer in his stomach, and so he is even less patient than usual. His ex-wife asks him to look into her sister's suicide, and while there is no love lost between the ex and him, he agrees to do it. What he uncovers is an unsavory blackmail scheme that has led to a number of murders as well. I enjoyed this book, despite not liking the hard boiled murder mystery genre all that much.
