it was amazing

I normally do not read Margaret Atwood books as I can only get through her first 50 pages before getting lost in detail (excepting Alias Grace).

The Year of the Flood was different. As was its companion book - Oryx and Crake - which are not sequels/prequels of each other, they can be read in either order. They are both terrific but Year of the Flood had a better flow.

Extremely intense book, right from the start. And darker than I was I comfortable with given a tendency to project current societal trends forward into 'what if scenarios' (though I'm not building a bunker just yet!)
