it was amazing
bookshelves: acceptance, ece-3601, exceptionalities, family

This was one of the most beautiful books I have ever read in my life. A little girl is very excited about having a new baby brother and all the things she is going to be able to do with him. Then they find out that he has down syndrome. She is upset because she believes that she will not be able to do those things with him until her dad explains to her that with patience and understanding, her brother will still be able to do all those things.

This would be a great book to use for a lesson on overcoming challenges, or if there is a need for a quick lesson on down syndrome itself in the classroom.
