really liked it

pip is a character that despite his seemingly generic nature will stick with me for a long time. this would be my second dickens and prepared to forgive the coincidences from which his plot is built, i greatly enjoyed myself. there was also a strange feeling of dejavu when encountering mess havisham; i had heard allusions to her before and so it was a delight to encounter the genuine article. my only complaint with the book was that dickens was talked into changing the ending from the evocative but "unhappy" original.
