I liked the premise of this book. A "slow" person, Perry, wins the Washington State Lottery and must fend off a money-hungry family who didn't care about him beforehand. Throughout the story are bits of wisdom his grandma, the person who raised him, instilled in him. Along the path is his best friend, Keith, and his boss, who both treat him like he's a normal human being.

The thing that bugged me the most was how the book was written. It was his narrative, so it was a little hard to get into because the writing was "dumbed" down. The language was pretty atrocious as well, though Perry is adamant that he won't swear. It's written as though Perry is 10 instead of in his 30's, though that's part of the charm.

For a debut, I thought it was a good book and wouldn't mind picking up another one of the author's.
