it was amazing

This book was full of Oh My moments. And yes I had my pencil out doing annotations with this one.

This long poem reminded me of “The Revelation of St. John The Divine” AKA “The Book of Revelation”.

The super bonuses of this book were that it was the Longfellow translation and had all of the Dore illustrations.

Take time to read this one if you haven’t.

Daniel Chaikin Cool! This is one of my 2020 themes. I'll begin Purgatory in April.

Quirkyreader Daniel,

That’s cool. If you don’t have the Dore illustrations try and find them. They make the reading even more meaningful.

Daniel Chaikin I look them up occasionally. Also the Botticelli drawings.

7jane *nods* One of my translations (the Finnish one) had the Dore illustrations - so good. I bought a book of his Bible illustrations also, which was also worth it. :)

Quirkyreader 7jane,

Dore seems like one of those artists who can translate the Word into art perfectly.
