Picked up this slim volume in Montreal. Well written summary of Quebec history which provides the odd interesting fact I didn't know; 1) a thriving ginseng industry operated along the St. Lawrence in the 18th century with most of it going to China and, 2)after Confederation in 1867 tens of thousands of French Canadians migrated to New England. The authors take a particularly pro-Quebec slant on the constitutional battles of the 1980s and 90s, not too surprisingly. The history ends with the 1995 referendum.
