did not like it
bookshelves: gave-up

I'm not a viceral critic. If I don't like the book I just drop it and move on to the next one. I've gotten past my guilt of not finishing a book, or not understanding it or whatever. I borrowed this from my neighbor. I went downstairs to eat some popcorn with her and I saw this book on her table. I'd already seen it everywhere else so I asked, Is it good?, and she said she was liking it a lot. I asked to borrow it.

I began, right off the bat something happened, something that has never happened to me in all my reading history: I hated the writer. She was instantly unlikeable, I couldn't stand her voice, and she's not even speaking. I couldn't go on. I didn't even finish Italy. There has never been an author so full of herself like Gilbert, and she can't even justify it.
