A good read, but by no means a short one! No where near as complex or wordy as the usual academic treatment of the subject and at times sparkling with wit. A fantastic overview for anyone studying or interested in any aspect of the African past and present, it shows clearly how current African events have been created by the colonial past. However not something I'd recommend for a light holiday read.
