really liked it

Ground control to Major Tom...check your protein pills and put your helmet on...Lost Solace is a thoroughly enjoyable slice of sci-fi the Grim Reader found himself enjoying more and more as the story progressed. A small cast and a tightly paced story meant I was glad I stepped out of my horror comfort zone. There are obvious comparisons to Event Horizon but I thought Lost Solace was more Lost in Space than anything else. Opal and the ship's AI form a great bond and once the action begins, it barely lets up. This ain't hard sci-fi and the tech is easy to understand, Drinkwater doesn't bombard the reader with physics like some authors in the genre have a habit of doing. It was a solid 3 star read for the most part but by the book's end, I was eager for the next in the series. And so...

4/5 gravitational pulls from the Grim Reader.
