it was amazing

I read Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater not long ago, and while I enjoyed it, I found it put-downable. Not so with The Scorpio Races. The setting is so well developed, with such subtlety, that I was about half way through it before I realized I couldn't tell what time period it was set in. It just didn't matter. There were clues that answered this question for me and I was so inspired by Ms. Stiefvater's cleverness, I'm totally stealing her technique in my WIP. It was a great read, the characters were fun and unconfused. I wish there was more, but by the same token, I totally appreciate that there isn't.
