I found myself driven to finish this book; it was compelling and mysterious. The ending surprised me some, but not in the "totally-out-of-left-field-oh-come-ON" way that some authors have. (coughJodiPicoultcough)

On the other hand, I found some characters to be really flat, esp the female ones. As a reader, I would really have liked another viewpoint besides that of our unreliable narrator--just a couple chapters in the 3rd person from someone else would have improved it greatly.
