The books that impress me most are those that stay with me when the cover is closed. That have me still half in their world for a while as I go about the shopping or work.
Circe was one of those (though a head full of Gods, Titans and witchcraft is not necessarily a good thing when browsing the supermarket herbs and spices aisle).
The story keeps your attention without letting up, adding depth, nuance, flaws and virtues to characters that were known to me only vaguely from movies and childhood books of Greek mythology. You have to marvel at the author's ability, given the entire book is told in the first person. An excellent read.
