Everyone knows what this book is about, but how many have actually read it? Much of it reads like a textbook and parts were very long winded. But the fact that he was able to deduce the theory of Natural Selection from his exhausting observations is incredible. I can't imagine what it would have been like to read this when it was written. I had no idea of the vast amount of experimentation Darwin went through to back up his claims. The details and specific examples were very interesting to read. If not for his longwindedness and the fact that I knew most of it already, it would have scored higher, but it's 2012 and not 1859 so it loses 2 stars from me ;)
