Reviewed on Hearts On Fire...

I rarely review short stories because they are either just sex or they are too shallow but this story really touched me. Quinn Edwards is a rock star at the peak of his career but he's slowly dying. He was kidnapped ten months ago and starved as the kidnappers waited for ransom money. Quinn is in the middle of a tour with his manager pushing him hard. Quinn hires Josh Malone as his new personal assistant and Josh is just what the doctor ordered and more. The relationship between Quinn and Josh was beautifully written and moved well instead of the insta-love so many shorts have. The story felt real to me especially with Quinn's problems surfacing every now and then sometimes seriously and sometimes not too bad. The band, Josh and even the two bodyguards were so strongly behind Quinn that it was heart warming to read how the twist at the end of the story turned out. If your reading time is scarce , I recommend you pick up this feel good short.
