On Chesil Beach by Ian McEwan is a beautiful, poetic exploration of two, young, newly-weds inability to discuss their feelings and emotions concerning each other and concerning their first sexual experience for the both of them.
It is a story that powerfully shows, how, even by doing nothing - or maybe especially by doing nothing, your entire life can change. What lack of communication - and especially the lack of honest, open communication, can do to a relationship.
