really liked it
bookshelves: 2012

I picked this book up a few times while searching for something to read at the library. I put it back on the shelf because I thought it was a trite story set during the civil war... A "gone with the wind" type saga. But last week I decided to try it since I could not find something I thought to be better. I was surprised once I start to read... I fact I could not but it down until the book was finished. This is a generational saga set in a Fedricksburg VA pre civil war home. We learn family history isn't always correct and sometimes voices from the past help us discover our true self. I really enjoyed the book .
