It's been a long time since I've been this ambiguous about a book. I usually hesitate to say that I dislike any books--after all, the author is putting him/herself out there so who am I to criticize, after all I'M not writing anything. And, the truth is, I don't dislike THIS book either, but there was just something missing for me that I cannot put my finger on. I think perhaps I just had different expectations of the book. At any rate though, one of the more interesting facets of the book are the historical references to the limited roles women had in Victorian society and to the extremely prudish Victorian standards of women's sexuality, so I did enjoy that element of the story and it's worth a read for that. It's also a good read for "students" and devotees of the original Dracula novel as there are alot of comparisons, etc that can be analyzed in relation to Stoker's original telling.
