I had highly anticipated reading this novel - I think the book is very well researched and certainly covers topics critical in history - the Blitz of London, the evacuation of the Jewish people by train through Europe and media coverage of the war. The concept of intertwined lives and how all loose ends would inevitable be tied together is a common plot device - voices of key characters to tell the story of love, loss and life. I liked it but cannot say I loved it. A good read - a little tedious at time and a few places in the book where the story thread got a little lost. However, story set in the 1940's always attracts my attention so another book completed in this time period.
