liked it

well written, well developed characters. maybe i've gone soft, but this is a tad dark and depressing. each character's life is pretty bleak in its own individual way, and they are all fairly awful to each other. i'm going to hope that most human beings are more decent. rachman succeeds in achieving imperfect people in his stories of the newspaper biz. i also have to believe he has his own bias....
