really liked it

This was a book I didn't expect to like so much.

Honestly, I went into the book feeling a little suspicious and I came out of that actually pretty happy. There was all the elements of a good book in there--suspense, mystery, a likable main character, and pretty interesting secondary characters as well.

And Holly Black can write from the perspective of a boy. It was straightforward and I appreciated that.

Definitely would recommend this. It's a pretty easy read--but it's an easy read that actually surprises you with how good it is.

“We are, largely, who we remember ourselves to be. That's why habits are so hard to break. If we know ourselves to be liars, we expect not to tell the truth. If we think of ourselves as honest, we try harder.”
