it was amazing
bookshelves: novels

I enjoyed this from the start. Achibie fits in a lot of detail without getting bogged down in it, shifting easily from one character's point of view to another. I sympathized strongly with each character while at the same time wondering about their blind spots (mostly their unbending desire, and fervent need, to believe official reports while at war). I think that this has been the best book I have read this year.
