it was amazing

There’s nothing I hate more than when a book is so overhyped that by the time you read it you can’t but help be disappointed. (Hello, ‘...Crawdads’) So with that in mind I’ll keep this brief and just say, read this. Simple, effective, and so wonderfully avoiding any maudlin or sentimental traps it could fall into, I thought this was a beautiful story about the aftermath of a commercial plane crash and its sole survivor, a twelve year old boy. Written with honesty and heart it calls to mind the same melancholy beauty of Alice Sebold’s, ‘the Lovely Bones’. I loved this book.

Mrtruscott Great review, Brett. Laughing at your “hello, Crawdads” comment - I’m with you on that one.

Brett Benner I feel like we’re the overwhelming minority
