Another 5-Star Puzzlebook from the Grabarchuk Puzzle Family!
This book is really neat. It is unlike any of the other Grabarchuk Puzzles books that I have reviewed so far. This one is a lot of fun, and really tests the mind with it's 240 visual puzzles in it.
You start this book off with the Main Menu screen. It is controlled by the Menu button and the 5-way controller button on the Kindle. This is how I play these games as I have the Kindle 3G with WiFi, as this particular game can only be played on any of the e-ink Kindles or Kindle Keyboards, DX or 2nd Generation. It cannot be played on the Fire or any other App devices at this time.
It has four buttons to open. Play, Help, Score, and About. When you click on Score, it is really neat because it keeps track of the total puzzles solved, stars earned for getting puzzles correct, and the Time spent on each puzzle. The three different types of puzzles you can choose to play in this game are 'Basic', which are squares, Domino, which are rectangular shaped puzzles, and Trio, which are triangles. Each of these have 80 puzzles, the total of the 240! That is a LOT of puzzles!
When you press Play, you get a choice of the Basic, Domino, and Trio, which are the shapes I just mentioned previously. You have to 'cut the shapes into 2 congruent parts', which means you have to highlight the squares to make two equal amounts of squares that match. Sounds easy, and they are easy to start out with, and get tougher as you get better at solving them!
Domino is the rectangles, and you have to do the same thing as you just did with the squares. 'Cut the shapes into 2 congruent parts'. You highlight the rectangles into equal parts. Again, it's easy to start and gets harder as you get better at solving them.
The last section, Trio, the triangles, you do the same thing. 'Cut the shapes into 2 congruent parts.' Easy at first, the better you get, the harder the puzzles become as you get better at solving them.
I did not yet mention this part. You are 'timed' for each puzzle for the amount of time it takes you to solve them! You can play these puzzles over and over again against yourself, trying to beat yourself at your own game! This is one of the greatest features! The games never end! This one book can keep you entertained for months, or even years! If you really like the games, there is no telling how many times you can play these games while trying to better your scores every time! It's really endless!
I've had a LOT of fun playing these games! One puzzle I played took me about 1/2 hour to try to figure out. Now I was pretty far into the much harder puzzles by this point. I never have figured this one puzzle out! I WILL! I keep going back to it over and over again! Now I've become obsessed with this one puzzle because I can't solve it! I'm GOING TO SOLVE IT! I'm going to beat myself at the time, too!
See what this game does to you? It makes you crazy, in a good way! You must solve these puzzles and beat your time, or else you keep going back over and over and over again and again and again to the same puzzle because you must solve it and beat your time! I LOVE IT!
The photos on the cover of the book are a great visual aid in seeing what these puzzles look like.
Honestly, this is one of the funnest games I have played to date! I think since they added the timer to the puzzles is what hooked me and keeps making me go back for more!
This is one book you will surely enjoy for however long you choose to play them. I'm warning you. You WILL become hooked on these puzzles! They are GREAT! Have fun!
