it was amazing
bookshelves: historyhistoricalfiction

I couldn't put it down! The combined history of the HeLa cells and Henrietta Lacks's children is fascinating. The Lacks children's stories in comparison to the development of an industry around their mother's cancer cells is heart-wrenching -- I kept pulling for them to receive some kind of significant compensation, knowing full-well that it wasn't likely, or even necessarily ethical. Definitely thought-provoking.
