This is a really interesting book that we enjoyed discussing as a group since none of us knew much about the Taj Mahal or India during the 1600s. The author did use poetic license with the main character Jahanara because she is allowed too much freedom for that time, the group felt. Also, the book tried to cover a lot of ground, many years in her life and some of it was not given enough detail. But, again, this is a great book group discussion title since there is so much to talk about!
