it was ok
bookshelves: book-club, cantfinish

Why did this win so many awards? Is there an award for Most Pointless Middle 300 Pages Ever? Because it should win that.

I would have rather this been a series of interconnected short stories culminating in the narrator's grandfather's story. All of the folk tales and flashbacks made everything so muddled that I didn't even care what was going on in the present. Only two out of five people finished this for book club, so I guess I don't feel so bad about it.
