Jake is known for breaking the hearts of half of the single women working at his son’s, Jayden’s, school. Now Jayden is entering Bailey Thorne’s kindergarten class, and Bailey wants to limit interaction with Jake based on the rumor mill. However, when the pair gets stuck in the school elevator, she realizes he’s actually a good guy, and soon the pair have a hot and heavy fling.

Grumpy Jake is a wonderful standalone novella featuring a grumpy single dad and a sparkling kindergarten teacher. The story moves and flows around the pair beautifully, bringing the joy and heat of a new relationship, coupled with the hurt of heartbreak and loss. Ms. Blue does a wonderful job creating a couple I care about in a short space. The story has all of the emotions and depth usually found in a full-length novel. I thoroughly enjoyed Grumpy Jake and will be looking to read more from Ms. Blue.
