Perhaps I am bias (I am) and prefer a story be pretty much finished before someone begins writing it. The "will they, won't they" plotline is only satisfying if you find out if they will or they won't. Unless it's really funny. Which this wasn't, at least not enough for her to have made a career as a comedian.

What I did find surprisingly rewarding about the book wasn't the actual story, but what it represents. I'm fascinated by people (perhaps because I feel as though I fall into the category myself) who have lived their dream, if only for four short years, and now have to figure out what's next.

So, in that respect, Rachel Dratch has a brave, interesting, and heartwarming story. I just think she should have waited a couple more years to tell it.
