it was amazing

This was a completely engaging read ... superbly written (I've been spoiled with the last 2 books I've read due to the fine literary abilities of both authors) ... I found the story incredible, oweing to the fact that whilst the people in it are fictitious, the events around which they revolve were real events in history eg. confederates vs the yankees; hatred in the south of America towards the freeing of American negroes and the birth of the despicable, hateful Ku Klux Klan ... the fact that a monumental love story (or 2) has been woven into it showed me why this book, and the movie that was made, are such classics and favourites through time. I want to see the movie now, but shall savour this book for a little while before I venture into another ...
