I have been a Carlos Ruiz Zafón fan since the firt book I read by him, 'Shadow of the Wind'. I am constantly surprised at the depth of his books and careful planning and all the work that goes into them. This fell somewhat short of what I'm used to by Zafón but I suspect that the reason for that is quite simple. The book is after all a YA book, so et can't really have all the many sofisticated layers that Zafón's books usually has. And this book was his debut, so I'll allow it. Anyway, the book wasn't my any means bad, I must stress that! Especially the endning, which was one of those endings that you kind of hate because it isn't happy, but that you can't imagine being any different because it's just so right and so fitting.
