This could have been so much more than the teaser that it was. A college-girl reunion vacation goes awry with a trip to an abandoned hot-springs' lodge in the woods. The hermaphrodite diviner and the legend of a backwoods family deformed by inbreeding were both so downplayed that I frantically turned pages hoping to find a parallel chapter that would give me more historical footage of their being. Instead I got lengthy and hectic transition scenes (i.e. from the lake to the lodge... from the woods to the truck... trying to find a flashlight...) all exhaustingly long and tedious. I wanted eyeless hunchbacks with parasitic twins lumbering after these girls in the woods. Instead I got a very predictable and lazy ending.
