I was at a point in my reading, where I needed something lighter. The Hannah Swensen books are murder mysteries, but they are about people in a small town, and the relationships Hannah has with her mother, sister's, and members of her small community. She owns the Cookie Jar, and there is a lot of talk about her cookies, including recipes. She is single, and her mom is always trying to match her up with the single men in their town. This is the first book in the series, so it caught me up on more of the background. I have read many of the series. This book introduces Normal and Mike, who become her love interests in later books.
