really liked it

I remember the first Dirk Gently book being pretty dull (to be fair, I read it once about twelve years ago), but with this is a much more engaging, ambitious book with a nicely twisty plot and plenty of good jokes about deadly refrigerators, ice-cold bureaucracies, and bizarre forms of holism. Also, Adams's musings about ancient gods trying to survive in the modern world probably inspired a great portion of Neil Gaiman's literary output. Good fun.
