I wish I could give this 3.5 stars...Im not EXACTLY sure what I think about it, haha. The writer, although succinct, it also a little simple in his writing, which is not a bad thing. A cool way to interweave vampires into the extraordinary life is AL. I really did feel it was less "funny" than I anticipated- as AL seems to have suffered terrible losses and probably was too empathetic for his own good. I do feel that it got a little "preachy", not that preaching against racism is bad, but I think most people didnt need it spelled out for them quite as much, like a morality play. I also feel a little empty about Henry- what a cool character- sure we know how he was made a vampire, but not much else.

I also thought the frame story, with the author, was unnecessary...we never return to him, so why was he there? And why did Henry choose him?
