really liked it

A little Faulkner, a little Kafka, a little Camus, this National Book Award finalist for translated literature follows three estranged siblings as they drive their father's body from Damascus to the town near Aleppo where he was born and where he wished to be buried. There may be heroes here, but none are main characters. A good choice for fans of existentialism.
