I thought this started out fairly slowly, and the style and tone weren't really my thing - or it wasn't the right time for me to read it (i.e. sad after coming home from holiday). It's definitely a summer read, purely because it's so languid. I felt sleepy after every chapter!

As the story progressed, I did get more into it, and was looking forward (if that's the right phrase) to see what happened to estrange Marika and Erzibet.
