really liked it

I just finished reading this to the kids. It was was filled with too strange of words and concepts were a little too big for the 3 year old. However, she sat still and listened. The 5 year old followed the main themes and could report back to me what happened, too. So she "got it" even if she couldn't have had the same appreciation for whizzpoppers as an older child would have.

Not a bad book for kids. A little scary, perhaps with the 50 foot giants that eat little kids... be sure you know your audience before you give your kids nightmares. :)

I am still looking for something more akin to Charlie and the Chocolate factory that I can share with the kids. There are precious few chapter books that fit the range between 3-5. Maybe Mrs. Frizby and the Rats of NIMH?
