it was ok
bookshelves: standard-prn-fare, ya
Read in August, 2010

Looked like it was going to be an interesting take on the fae, but I got bogged down in the standard paranormal love triangle and lackluster writing.

Huh. And to think, I could have left exactly this two-line review for her new book, THE IMMORTAL RULES.

Angie Really? That's a shame. Thanks for letting me know I'm not missing much.

Estara This is why I haven't been able to finish it. I liked the heroine's kid brother the most.

Angie Estara, agreed.

Rachel Piper I was skeptical about this book (I'm not a fairy person) but someone convinced me to put it on my list. It's coming off now!

Angie Rachel, yeah, they really have to be done just right to work for me. They were not here.

Heidi I got through the first one excited about her take on the fey, but last week I suffered through Iron Daughter and had the same reaction. There wasn't enough 'newness' to get past the terrible love triangle lackluster writing at all.

Angie Heidi, hm. Suffering through is no good. Definitely sounds as though the series doesn't get better.
