really liked it
bookshelves: british, ebook, england, fiction

Ugh, it took its sweet time to get going, this one. But then it outpaced the previous couple of novels where I thought the old man was losing his touch a bit. I have been a fan all my life and think I've read most of his novels. They are a great way to understand the British sense of self and of course to understand the immense threat felt during the Cold War.

The novel is a biting criticism of Brexit, but from a surprising angle. I enjoyed the last hundred pages immensely!
