Timothy Smith Hello Rory Feehan,

I see that you gave a high rating to The Quiet American. Goodreads’s synopsis of it opens with the line: “The Quiet American is a terrifying portrait of innocence at large.” The same could be said for my novel, Cooper’s Promise, the coming of age story of Cooper Chance who’s ended up in a darker heart of Africa than Joseph Conrad could have imagined.

Cooper's Promise tells the story of a soldier who vows to save a young girl who's been trafficked to redeem himself for another promise he couldn’t keep. It's exciting, fast-paced, and literary at the same time. It was twice shortlisted for the prestigious Faulkner-Wisdom Competition, and the screenplay adaptation has won numerous grand prizes and first places, including Best Original Drama and Best Male Lead.

Thanks, and keep on reading -- it gives us writers hope.

Rory Feehan Hi Tim,

Thanks for the heads up. I'll check it out.

All the best,

Timothy Smith Cooper's Promise has just landed another publisher and will be re-released in Oct. The current edition is going to be pulled off the shelves in a few days. So, if you'd rather read it sooner rather than later, that's just another heads up.

Thanks. Hope you enjoy it.
