Tom Galvin What can I say? Brilliantly written in the second person, giving it an odd personability with a character who is hardly loveable, but possibly a loveable rogue. It is dark and funny in a grotesque way and de Witt brings characters up from the deepest recesses of . . . possibly the most awful bar in the world. Bukowski started it all, but this comes terrifically close.
