It was readable, yet missing that certain something. Gabriella didn't have that spark to make her a memorable character. I was more moved by the fate of a supporting character than anything that happened to G. I also found it a bit off that Gabriella and company were able to travel - relatively safely at that - through Italy, Germany, Holland, Scotland, France, Spain and North Africa without once experiencing any technical difficulties due to language barriers. This ain't Pax Romana, ya know.
