really liked it
bookshelves: fiction-novel, young-adult

It's somehow between 3.5 and 4 stars.

The thing that i don't like about this book is its use of first person point of view. I never really feel that i get the full story using 1st person pov. So throughout the book i feel that i don't really get a good grasp of what is happening in the capitol, how the politic works out and blend with the games, and how Haymitch and other characters in the book.

The thing that i do like is the story.

I watch the movie first, so i'm glad that the book clears so much. At first in the movie i don't see Peeta as the innocent and naive boy falling so hard in love because so many things that he does in the movie doesn't adds up but in the book it's actually explains well. I guess that is why almost no movie is as good as its book.

The second thing that i do like about this book is Katniss. Actually it took a while to warm up towards her. I guess because she is so closed up so even for the reader, she is presented as someone callous. On second thought she is exactly who she is a young girl who manage to survive despite all the odds. A girl who has the burden to feed her family, because her father died and her mother cannot take the rein.

So in all, i definitely will read the second installment
