it was amazing

Wonderful start to a new series.

This book is different from Lily's usual fare, but it's still wonderfully funny, wonderfully snarky, wonderfully written, and, of course, wonderfully British.

It's a creepy thriller, with just the right amount of fearful suspense to keep you on edge. There's never a quiet moment in this chilling tale. My first reaction would've been to head for the hills!

As usual Ms Morton's characters are delightful. Her main characters are always well-defined, and bring their own personal faults and flaws to the mix. Levi was such a sweetheart and even the quirky and irreverent Blue, proved himself to be a love. Lily has a great sense of humor and this shines through in her characterization, mood, and atmosphere.

Her descriptions are so vivid that it's easy to lose yourself in the novel and imagine you're in York (one of my favourite places), as the scenes are unfolding.

It's such a good plot and the cleverly written characters make the story so entertaining. A pretty scary story with a side dish of quirky.
