john Tynan, retired Detective Inspector, can't believe it when a woman he's been seeing for a very short time is found stabbed to death in her hotel room. Martha Toolin was visiting the area and not a lot was known about her.

She was there researching her family she said. She also said she had no children .. but who was the young man who showed up at the hotel looking for his mother?

John's friend, Detective Mike Croft, is called in to investigate and soon discovers that Martha wasn't her real name and she was a con artist. So what did she want with Tynan?

The more Croft investigates, with a little help from Tynan, the more he finds that she was not a well liked person. And more than one person wanted her dead.

And then .. another body is found on the beach.

Although 4th in the series, this is easily read as a stand alone. This is a well written crime fiction with credible recurring characters. It's a real page turner with lots of twists and turns and the suspense is steady from the very first page to the very last page.

Many thanks to the author / Joffe Books / Books N All Book Promotions / Netgalley for the digital copy of this Psychological Crime Thriller. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.
