In 1964, Dr. David Henry is forced to deliver his own twins during a blizzard. The perfect son is kept. The Down Syndrome daughter is given to the nurse to be institutionalized. The wife is told of the baby's death. This decision and lie have devastating long term effects on his wife, marriage and son. The daughter is brought up by the nurse with love and grit to help her become all she can be. Unsettling book about misconceptions, lies, and wrong decisions.
