really liked it

I chose this book, because I was browsing the graphic novel section of a library, saw the cover, skimmed through it, and thought it was an interesting book. Bad Island is about a family that gets shipwrecked on a peculiar island. They face bizarre and hostile creatures as they discover more secrets about the island. My favorite quote is said by the island itself several thousand years ago when it tries to defend its planet from invaders. He wants to fight but his father, the king of his people, tells him no. He goes regardless. As he is about to face his first invader he says, “You were wrong about me, Father! I am old enough to be a warrior!...I’ll show him!” It’s my favorite because it shows how he wants to be like his dad, even though his father doesn’t allow him to fight. I really liked how fluently the author transfers from each character’s point-of-view. I would recommend this book to every graphic novel lover, because of its themes of maturity and the vividness of the pictures.
