Ashley Summers, The Cheating Wife: Kari Gets Caught (No publisher given, 2012)

Points off for lack of information. (Oddly, the release date appears on the search page, but nowhere on the product detail page.) Not that it matters much, there aren't many points to give for a book that doesn't actually give us one character's name until after he gets his joint worked (and then gives it to us as “Kyle, her lover...”), not to mention dropping the actual plot entirely (and I'll admit, I do give it props for at least attempting a plot) once sex enters into the picture. Sex, I might add, that feels oddly detached (“He cupped her breast in his hand and appreciated the body his wife maintained.” Show me someone who thinks in that kind of language while still loopy from orgasm and I'll show you someone who faked it). More of a trudge than it is a short story, though I'll admit to having read worse this month. *
