really liked it

Graphic novels are tremendous ways to present historical events. This one did a great job of capturing the events and emotions of the French people during the occupation, as seen through the eyes of two young children. Their young faces are very expressive and allow the reader a real window into their emotions. Especially effective are the scenes they view on a train-the brutality and violence of a deportation and the casual murder of a resistance member right in front of them. This is a promising beginning.
